Help Me Remodel!

After the famous Christmas in July sale is over on Sunday, I plan to give the shop a little face lift. Back when the shop started, I was using a pink flower as my brand logo. I realized the pink flower didn't give buyers any idea of what my shop was about (other than pink!), so I started using the cupcake as my brand. I had an epiphany the other day: perhaps buyers believe I only create cupcake crafts, when this isn't the case. Thus, a second re-branding was born.

I've already decided to use a shot from The Lovebirds Scrapbook Page, as that seems to be a customer favorite, is adorable, and doesn't pigeon-hole me into a specific product category. I've already started using the image in my Christmas in July banner/icon and have changed my Facebook/Twitter icons to match, but now its time to choose a permanent replacement. I have my icon/avatar selected (pictured above) and I need your help deciding which coordinating banner to go with.

I have three designed: the first and second are much like my current banner (and I can't decide if I like the image right or left aligned!). The third is a totally different style. It uses the owl image as the background, but its much more subtle.  Click on each to see them bigger:

  1. I'm leaning toward #1... the black makes an impact.

  2. I like the 3rd one - black doesn't seem to go with your style - not a whole lot of dark stuff in your shop :)

  3. I like the second one but would prefer a brighter color instead of black...maybe the blue or green that is in the owls...I like this alignment because your name jumps at me more than in the first one

  4. Oooh Steph, I hadn't considered that....I'm feeling that idea! Maybe I'll make a 4th :)

  5. I agree with Steph -- blue or green would fit your shop better than the black. Except I like the first one's design better.

  6. I also think blue or green would be better than black...The black makes the text stand out but I don't think black goes with your designs. Your work is so colorful!

  7. I like #1. I like being able to see an image of your work in the banner. Especially since that owl is so cute. I agree with the others, maybe find a color in the owl drawing you like and pick one of those. The solid background really makes the text pop. If you do a fourth design I can't wait to see it :)

  8. I mostly prefer #3, but it would be nicer if it was more like the others - showing actual desings. #1 or #2 would be quite nice with a background more like #3 instead of black.

  9. I agree about using colors in the owl image, and with what noisy said about liking the lightness of the third image and showing the product. It will be cute!

  10. I agree with Steph and several others. I like the lighter tones in the third one but the designs of the first and second options. :) Good luck deciding!

  12. i like #1 or #2. but did you notice that the font is sticking the "ti" in celebrating very very close together? i had to do a double take there to read the word correctly.

  13. I like #3, but adding the pic of the owl to it would really seal the deal!
